LISA APATINI
BIO
Born and raised in New York City, Lisa began practicing asana when she was 14 years old. In 2005 a dear friend introduced her to Jivamukti Yoga School at Union Square. Lisa knew right after her first class that she found her “home”. The Jivamukti Method was the all inclusive practice that she was always searching for, guided by the intention of liberation, enlightenment, and being compassionate to all beings.
Lisa immediately immersed herself in a world of Jivamukti Yoga. With an open heart, this path took her on a journey to complete the Jivamukti 300+ hour Teacher Training at Blue Spirit in 2013.
As a professional vocalist and performer since childhood, music, the healing vibration of sound, has been a constant creative practice and source of inspiration through out Lisa’s life.
Lisa also has a deep passion for circus arts and began performing with aerial silks in 2009. She has studied this art with her beloved teachers, Sandhi “Gayatri” Ferreira and Sarah Wollschlager.

Sarah Wollschlager
Miss Wollschlager ran away and joined the Circus World Museum of Ringling Bros., where she stared in the aerial ballet, rode elephants and was cut in half in the magic show! When she wasn’t in the circus, she was working closely with Native Americans during her summers.
She later attended The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where she received her BFA in Dance and a minor in Women’s Studies. It was in Wis. that she had the pleasure of meeting, Janet Lilly, her first Iyengar Yoga teacher.
She has danced professionally 15 years in the U.S. and abroad for some names like Cirque Du Soleil’s 25th Anniversary, Phish, Noemi La France, and Grounded Aerial. She appeared on stages such as Madison Square Garden, The Kimmel Center, Webster Hall, Times Square, The Electric Factory, Brooklyn Lyceum, Grounds For Sculpture, and the Abby of an Italian Castle.
After 12 years taking class in Hatha, vinyasa, and meditation, she received her 200 hr certification. She would like to thank all her teachers past and present, especially Senior JivaMukti teacher and aerial yogini, Sandhi Ferreira. Currently Sarah teaches yoga, aerial yoga, aerial silks, and aerial dance at local studios such as Om Factory Union Square, SLAM, Embody, Sky Box, and The Muse.
In Sarah’s class she hopes to instill a sense of freedom and joy with attention to alignment. Be brave and have a strong compassionate heart!
